Orlando International Airport has said earlier that travelers would be able to use Terminal C by July 2022. The south terminal, which is expected to cost more than $2 billion, has been constructed to an estimated 87 percent. The terminal’s 15 additional gates, which can accommodate up to 20 planes, will allow up to 10 million extra people to pass through. TSA security screening checkpoints will be totally automated, and RFID baggage tracking will be available.

It is part of the greatest expansion project in the history of the Florida airport. While rehabilitation from COVID-19 is still continuing, Central Florida’s investment in the South Terminal C complex has many reasons to be positive. For one thing, MCO jumped from tenth to ninth busiest airport in the United States (based on passenger traffic) in 2019. During the same time period, the airport climbed five ranks on the list of the world’s busiest airports. Municipal airports have a dual purpose. The city benefits from the businesses that are situated at the airport because it is the owner/operator. The city also benefits from the economic activity provided by surrounding industrial parks and other businesses that are able to thrive due to the proximity of an airport. This also creates even more demand for industrial spaces and as well as retail stores when it comes to CRE endeavors.

Even while monthly passenger loads in the United States are still lower than in 2019, they are progressively increasing. Domestic tourism, which has traditionally been a prominent sector of the Orlando industry, is mainly responsible for this increase. The launch of South Terminal C in 2022 will undoubtedly help to encourage passenger growth. There will more than likely be a multitude of options of food to choose from, and stores to purchase items. The opening of this terminal will be a great boom in surging Florida’s economy even more, allowing for more people to travel here, and create a better travel experience for those wanting to come here and also currently living here as well.
